We spent the morning in the Page AZ area going first to the Beehive campground in Glen Canyon NRA to do the one-mile rock scramble climb to Fire Tower Rock and views of the New Wave, which is similar but smaller than the real Wave which requires a lucky permit in Vermilion Cliffs NM. Then we drove to some overlooks of the Glen. Canyon Dam and Wahweap marina on Lake Powell.
We then drove Rt 163 north past Monument Valley to Goosenecks State Park, where there are several bends in the San Juan River that look like a gooseneck.
Our last stop of the day was the 17-mile dirt road through the Valley of the Gods, a mini Monument Valley on BLM land with some incredible free boondocking sites like the one shown below.
