Self proclaimed Make Jessica Happy Day started with sleeping in late, scrambled eggs for breakfast, and a stop at the Bavarian bakery in Leavenworth WA. We window shopped the streets in Leavenworth admiring especially the Erzgebirge Christmas decorations and the nutcracker museum. Then we had a bratwurst and pretzel for lunch while watching the local middle school band and chorus perform in the town square. Five trombones in the band—not bad!
In order to make Jessica happy she needed a shower and clean clothes so we drove east on Art 2 and then north on Art 97 to near the Washington/Canada border and stopped at a laundromat that also had pay showers. Eight minutes of heavenly hot water for only $4. We got all the laundry done and I made a YouTube on Bodie while waiting. We also gassed up and cleaned out the van for the border crossing tomorrow. Then we got a nice $28 campsite in the border town of Oroville at Lake Osoyoos State Park, right on the river, and had tinfoil meals over charcoal for dinner with fresh mulberries right off the tree for dessert. And Jessica was happy!
